Happy Halloweenie!

👿 Happy Halloween everybody~! 🧛‍♂️🦇

It's super cold and frosty outside, so I'm staying in and watching/playing spooky games and movies. But first, before anything else, may I introduce my demon oc (again): Faustus. This is an appearance based off a ds game called "Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times". He's a mailman working with the post office, a bit shy and closed off, but he's very friendly and loves reading when he has the time to.

Stay warm and stay safe out there this Halloween~ And enjoy the SPOOKS!

More Matoran!

Forgot to post this doodle, but here are some of the Metru Nui matoran in their Mata Nui garb!

Nuhrii is she/her, Orkahm is she/her, and Ahkmou is he/him, for future reference.

I guess I'm making it a thing for piercings to be prevalent in Ta-matoran culture. Don't quite know if there would be a significance just yet, or if it's merely something they consider fashionable. But it certainly works well on Nuhrii~

I think I will also make it prevalent for those who are on the Gukko Force for Le-Koro, or at least ace pilots, to have a green-blue handkerchief of sorts, like my Kongu design and Orkahm here. She also has heterochromia, though you have to look close to see it.

Ahkmou was honestly a difficult design for me to pin down. I was torn between fully making him look suspect or make him look like the softest bean who couldn't do a thing wrong. But considering his life as a merchant, it wouldn't be remiss to make  him look a little bit scuffed. Also, facial hair, I just need to make more matoran designs with it.

Ursuli (another redesign)

I decided to redesign the other girl in the same image as the OG Vampunya was in, giving her look a bit more of a solid theme to it - which was sparkling stars~ I might return to it and refine it a bit more, but for something I drew in the moment, I'm really proud of how she turned out~!

Doing these redesigns has given me ideas for a story, and how cute this could have been if these characters were a 2000s girl's toy-line, like My Little Pony and the like. I know I would've at it up when I was a kid. (Yeah I loved Bionicle and Barbie, I swung both ways pfptf) Though I also thought that it would be pretty badass if this ended up being a hyper-cute world but if it had an "epic journey" storyline like Avatar the Last Airbender or was some intense action show like Teen Titans. Something that could give you EMOTIONAL DAMAGE but also be "kawaii" at the same time, heh.

Anyways, I plan on redesigning the third girl and she is going to look completely different from how she looked in the old drawing. Stay tuned perhaps~

Hahli Mahri

Welp, here's the first humanized Mahri, postergirl Hahli~! Like seriously, she had THE best glow up from Inika to Mahri. Those wings are everything on her design. I wasn't interested in buying bionicles by the time this wave came out, but if I had I definitely would have gotten this Hahli.

And also, for the record, the Mahri are going to stay looking "semi-mutated" and not as mutated as the Barraki are going to look. (Oh boy, they're going to be a challenge for me, but I am ready to tackle them)

Also, heavily leaning into that "Hahli the Barbarian" nickname for Hahli here, wanted to make her look as intense as possible. She's not the adventurous little matoran on Mata Nui anymore 8')

Still, I hope you enjoy this piece~

Vampunya (A redesign)

I can do cutecore too~ (Or whatever cute aesthetic this would be counted as, lol)

This is a redesign of one of my last deviantArt pieces I've made, when I was kind of  jumping into my "nostalgia" era and thinking back to y2k, DDR, trance techno, etc. I always adored the character designs of DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), so with those characters in mind, I created a few designs based off of them, specifically this girl. She didn't have a name and I still don't have a solid name for her now, but "Vampunya" works well enough for now~

I also made this to see how far I would go to draw a "chibi" character. I don't normally make chibis and to be honest, it's just a little hard for me to get the body right pfft. SO I'm sticking with a semi-chibi design and wanted to practice it out with her.

I'm thinking about reopening commissions again, so there's another good reason to make this. I currently don't have a job now and I'm not confident in my knowledge to ace a Pharmacy tech class, so I want something to fill in the gaps that's quick and doesn't deter my focus on other things.

So with that in mind, the commissions I offer will not look exactly like the art above, but will still have a level of what I do for my humanized bionicle series. I'll elaborate on it better once I have fleshed it out more.

For now, I do hope this piece entices you!

The Viceroy

I drew the mistress of evil of the Bionicle universe again!

I remember seeing glimpses of Roodaka as a child when this wave first came out and I thought she looked SO COOL. Didn't get to watch the movie at the time, but later on getting to watch it I definitely think she is the strongest played character of the movie - Kathleen Barr's performance definitely made her wonderful~ (And she also played Gali, whom I still love her for voicing too~)

Anyways, I wanted to give her another go since we all love Roodaka. I wanted to give her the same vibe I felt from the movie, a seductress that still held that battle-ready vibe. I almost thank Punishing Gray Raven for releasing an update with their character, Bianca, that has similar outfit vibes that I wanted to give to Roodaka here.

I gave Roodaka the "Vortixx braid" that I headcanon'd in my au. I feel like before, while Gali was training as a Toa, the braid was a symbol of dedication to the Vortixx. Though as time went on, and the nation grew more capitalistic and ritualistic, the braid was turned into a symbol of power - and would become more adorned if the wearer had climbed Xia's monstrous mountain.

She definitely used the fact that Gali had one to mess with her when they meet later on.

I also imagine the Vortixx to be somewhat reptilian in nature - due in part to all the hisses Roodaka makes in the movie of course. So there are a bit of scales over her body as well as claws.

I think I'm running out of things to say, BUT I do hope you enjoy this piece, I put a little more rendering into it than I usually do with my other stuff. (But it's not gonna become the norm, sorry, I'm an impatient bastard ;;v;;)

Thanks for reading this far, you can scroll back up to enjoy Roodaka again. uvu

Bryce 7 (and missing this UI style)

Ok so first things first, if you don't know what Bryce is, Bryce is a 3D sandbox program - there's set objects, materials, coding that allows you to create your own image like this easy peasy if you're willing to put in the learning. That being said, Bryce has been around for YEARS, it's practically been used for every rave poster you see, those strange surreal images on school binders/folders, and even much more professional work. Bryce is legit and I have never heard about it until the past year or so.

So obviously I had to get it. (Just... didn't get it until now of course......)

This image above is my first test render in the program so I can get cozy with it and learn its insides. And I'm like... in a happy place right now. Being able to create a similar vibe to the images/animations I've seen when I was a kid just brings me IMMENSE joy.

But it's also brought me to noticing how the UI was given such like TLC to it. Let me show you here:

(Pardon the teeny weenie UI, my monitor is huge)

But NO other 3D program in recent years LOOKS like this. No it's not business professional of course, but there's a whole lot of character to it just by looking at those little buttons on the left side! They even put time to make images of what you'll be adding into the scene!

And a little render window on the top left, that's really really cool and useful!

It's almost kind of styled as a game, and I absolutely love it. Maybe someday we can get to see more of this kind of UI, but I doubt it, companies would rather not spend the time to make a program have that kind of character to it. (this doesn't just apply to programs, but like social media, games, what have you) We've lost a sense of depth, and I mean that literally and metaphorically.

Sorry to bring out jaded Ani again, but I keep getting frustrated looking at websties, games, programs that all look the same. it's good in a way that they do sort of conform together for ease of access, but at the same time, I do crave uniqueness.

Anyways, here's so more pictures of Bryce's UI that I adore. Thanks for reading~

Onewa & Nuju hordika (+Krahka)

FINALLY!! Nuju and Onewa's hordika humanizations are DONE!

Drawing/deciding their animal forms was a bit difficult, but in the end, I'm happy with how they turned out~ And with a lil cameo from Krahka in her favorite form.

I don't think I've explained it before, but I know plenty of bonkle peeps can come to the same conclusion. I'm specifically making the Toa Metru's humanized hordika forms based off real animals (or animals in the Bionicle universe in this case) Which makes sense in story, these guys turn into beasts in story - I just didn't want to make them the same beast overall, that wouldn't be fun right? ;) So yeah, I guess it's a bit counterintuitive to call this a humanization since they just look like animals anyways, but that's just how the Bionicle story goes.

So I based Onewa off of a bull, thanks to the help of some of me followers~ And Nuju off of a secretary bird - I originally wanted to do an owl, but it wasn't translating very well unfortunately.

I also wanted to do Krahka, even though she never really has a canon original form and shapeshifts into different forms, but I wanted to at least do something for her. (Maybe in the future I'll dedicated a piece to her Six in One Toa form hehehe.) But I imagine she's very comfortable in Onewa's form. I think there would've been some time between her encounter with the Toa and Web of Shadows where she experimented with giving herself a more "toa-like" form.

Taking bits and pieces from the Toa, and rather making it a monstrous form, she tried to make her form look like it could walk among the crowd. But she probably struggled with the fact that it would be ripping herself away from her rahi blood, removing that "last of her kind" part of her.

Though Krahka probably enjoyed flexing these "strange muscles" too. She would probably say Onewa is the only form of the Toa Metru she can see herself in and feeling comfortable in.

Anyways, with that, that's all of the Toa down. Time to give Roodaka some spotlight again and that should be it for '05! After this, thanks to popular request, I'll be doing '07 instead of heading into '06, that'll be afterwards! Enjoy this piece for the time being~

I'm taking Commissions for a while!

I'll be taking this at a gentle pace, but I'm here to do some commission work and get some money in my pocket while I'm in-betwe...
